In home ABA therapy can consists of 2-40 hours of 1:1 therapy per week for children and adolescents within the home or community settings. More hours may be available for those that are under 5 years old age that have autism spectrum disorder and require early intensive behavior intervention therapy. Therapy for school aged children takes place after school within the home or community. ABA services can help with a variety of skills such as social skills training, functional communication training, speech and language development, independent living skills, behavioral and educational support, fine motor training, and parent training. These tools are used to help with reduction in problem behaviors and to increase skills acquisition. 

Caregiver training can be a stand-alone program to provide parents the support they need if in-home ABA services is not available in your area, or you would like to provide ABA supports for your own child. Assessments and behavior plan will still be provided and training to decrease problem behaviors, modeling appropriate behaviors, generalization, transitions, and learning educational goal in form of discreet trial training are a few of the skills that will be taught. Parent training can be provided via telehealth or in-home if you are located in the Honolulu area. 

Behavior Analytics Hawaii offers respite care for families that need a break from being a caregiver. This service is for families that have children with autism or other related intellectual and developmental disabilities.  Respite care will allow the caregiver to relax and recharge. We will check with your insurance provider to see if this is an option for you.
